The former Manchester United captain and England’s most capped right back Gary Neville is to open an Italian restaurant after winning a recent planning battle with Salford planning authorities following a previous rejection of similar plans in January earlier this year.
Italian food is Neville’s favourite and his new restaurant is just around the corner from his favourite Italian restaurant Puccinni’s.
Gary and his dad, Neville Neville, plan to convert a former social club called old Folly Lane in Swinton into a 100-seat venue, despite objections from its neighbours.
The neighbours that objected collected a 200-name petition, with objections focusing on traffic and noise. But the development, on Station Road, Swinton, has now been approved.
Plans from the Neville family’s Signature Developments were re submitted with reduced seating of 100 from the original 175. Parking space was increased from 11 to 17, including a dedicated space for disabled diners and a waiting area for taxis.
This is another celebrity restaurant that follows in the footsteps of many others, including fellow footballers Rio Ferdinand and Ashley Cole.
