Leicester based, Pukka Pies are to supply pies and savouries to Notts County in their 150th anniversary season. Fans of the world’s oldest professional club will be able to purchase Pukka’s range of award-winning products at Meadow Lane throughout the coming historic season.
Notts County are the newest addition to Pukka’s ever-expanding sports portfolio which includes clubs throughout the Premier League, Football League and Conference Leagues.
Last season Pukka supplied over 700,000 pies to football fans and hope to break through the one million barrier with the addition of the Magpies and other new clubs.
Pukka Pies Marketing Controller Peter Mayes said: “We have worked with Notts County in the recent past and are delighted to be doing so again in such an historic season for the club.
“Here at Pukka, we are very proud of our heritage and tradition of supplying the highest quality pies for nearly 50 years. To partner the world’s oldest League club is a great honour for us.
“Traditionally, our clubs experience excellent growth in average sales of pies and savouries and we look forward to developing that further with Notts County.”
At football clubs In the Midlands and South, the most popular flavour of pies sold is Steak and Kidney. In the North the top choice is Potato and Meat. Chicken Balti and Chicken and Mushroom are a close second and third. Balti pies come in third in most regions.
Overall, Steak and Kidney pies account for around 30 per cent of sales with Cheese and Onion Pasties accounting for eight per cent of the market.
