Christie + Co’s Edinburgh Office is delighted to have been appointed by Richard Waugh and Paul McCutcheon to sell the leasehold of their business ESI (Englishman, Scotsman and Irishman) Brasserie in the heart of Leith.
Barry McNeil, who is handling the sale, comments: “The name does sound like the start of a joke but ESI Brasserie has quickly established itself as a popular eatery in what has become known as Edinburgh’s “gastroland” in Leith.”
The business is at the crossroads of Constitution Street and Queen Charlotte Street in a former Whisky bond building, which was formerly an Indian restaurant. Richard Waugh and Paul McCutcheon have skillfully built up the business over the last two-and-a-half years creating a very profitable and well-regarded brasserie.
Internally, there are dining areas on three different levels, all encompassing 60 covers and an open-plan kitchen area. The business could be continued in its current format; alternatively, it would suit a variety of different international cuisines.
Barry McNeil concludes by saying: “We have been very successful this year in selling a number of restaurants in Edinburgh, Leith, Royal Mile, Lothian Road. I’m sure this opportunity will be of serious interest to either anyone looking to establish their own business or an experienced operator wishing to acquire an additional outlet in the popular Leith area.”
ESI Brasserie is on the market leasehold for offers over £80,000 plus stock at valuation.
