The George pub at the Andaz London Liverpool Street, is launching the UK’s first crackling menu, designed to complement the venue’s extensive craft beer list.
This new offering includes classic crackling, Pork and Chicken, along with more innovative varieties, Parma Ham and Parmesan & Polenta.
Each one has been perfectly paired with a complementing craft beer:
- Pork Crackling with Lemongrass Saison
- Chicken Crackling with Shoreditch Blonde
- Parmesan and Polenta Crackling (Choice of Smoked Paprika or Black pepper) with Hopspur
- Parma Ham Crackling with Pale Ale
The George’s specialist craft beer menu pays homage to the East London area by stocking beers sourced from local breweries such as Redchurch Brewery and Hackney Brewery. Local brews include Brick Lane Lager and Nightwatchmen.
The George is a quintessential British pub located on Bishopsgate, where the city meets East London and Shoreditch. The classic original Victorian architecture and design including oak panelled walls and crafted ceiling evokes a bygone era.
In addition to this new offering, The George has refreshed its British menu of comfort food and traditional pub fare. Feeding the nation’s appetite for nostalgic cuisine, The George has made fish and chips a signature feature, with choice of either a Craft Beer or Stout batter. Customers can also choose from either Haddock or Hake Fillets, which include all the traditional accompaniments.
Incorporating seasonal produce and the freshest ingredients, the menu will change each season, offering new dishes. Currently available are, Steamed Shetland Isle Mussels, Spring Lamb Rump with Fondant Potatoes Spring Greens & a Lamb Jus, and Soft Goats Cheese and Beetroot Tartin served with a Red Onion Marmalade, Baby Rocket & Roasted Pine Nuts.
Traditional pub favourites remain on offer, and include Mac & Cheese, Steak Sandwiches, Burgers and Bangers & Mash.
