A Liverpool Hope University graduate has been given a big career break with one of the world’s leading hotel chains.
Maya Battle, aged 23, has been appointed as social media co-ordinator for Louvre Hotels Group UK as the firm looks to ramp up its online presence.
The role will see Maya develop and implement a social media strategy to help improve the business’ UK presence at a local level across different social media platforms – this includes 17 Campanile Hotels and one Premiere Classe Hotel.
Since graduating last summer with a marketing, media and communications degree from Liverpool Hope University, Maya had been plying her trade at the Campanile Hotel in Liverpool as a general assistant, while also planning and overseeing a marketing campaign for the hotel’s new bar Seven Zero One.
Maya’s initiative and work ethic caught the attention of her hotel manager, and after being recommended to senior staff, has landed a job that is set to lead her on the path to success.
Maya, who will continue to be based at the Campanile Hotel in Liverpool, said: “I’m thrilled to be given an opportunity where I can follow my passion, which is developing brands through a variety of communications channels.
“From my short time working in the hotel industry I’ve found that people want to save as much money as possible on accommodation so they can splash out on exploring, but often aren’t given useful information until they arrive at reception.
“Social media is the ideal platform for each of our hotels to stand out from the crowd by delivering the city to people’s finger tips from the very moment they book with us and throughout their stay. I’m looking forward to getting started and bringing this vision to life.”
Mark Aldridge, Director of Operations for UK and Iberia at Louvre Hotels Group, created the social media co-ordinator role to investigate ways the hotel chain could capitalise on people’s every-increasing reliance on the internet.
Mark added: “Social media has become the go-to platform for businesses and customers to interact with each other, and we believe Maya has the expertise to help us explore this platform a lot more.
“While part of Maya’s role will be about creating engaging content for each hotel in the here and now, another aspect is about understanding how we engage with our customers of the future whose lives revolve around social media.”
Louvre Hotels Group comprises of six hotel brands – Royal Tulip, Golden Tulip, Tulip Inn, Kyriad, Campanile and Premiere Classe – operating across 1,100 hotels in 47 countries.
H&C News would like to congratulate Maya on her appointment and wish her good luck in the role.
