Independent coffee business Department of Coffee and Social Affairs has chosen St Martin’s Courtyard as their new destination. The 747 sq. ft. coffee house will open the first week of December, serving unique coffee roasts and cakes.
From the makers behind the popular Speakeasy Expresso & Brew Bar in Carnaby and the trendy Tonic coffee bar, the coffee entrepreneurs are broadening their portfolio of cafes serving ‘crop to cup’ deliciousness in the heart of London.
Bringing together a collaboration of coffee professionals, designers and artists, the aim of the building is to create a coffee-focussed social hub to draw in the residents and workers from London’s vibrant and sophisticated Covent Garden.
St Martin’s Courtyard is a shopping and dining destination situated just off Long Acre, with retail stores, cafes, restaurants, a fitness studio and spa aswell as commercial businesses and residents. The new shop will reflect the aesthetic of the courtyard’s contemporary look, with a light and uplifting interior and al fresco dining that is synonymous within St Martin’s Courtyard.
“Joining the courtyard’s 6 international restaurants and bars, The Department of Coffee and Social Affairs is the first stand-alone coffee shop to open within the square and is the perfect addition to St Martin’s Courtyard’s exceptional retail mix,” adds Head of Retail Strategy at Shaftesbury, Samantha Bain-Mollison.
