Dormy House Hotel and Spa, along with Foxhill Manor, the hotel’s exclusive-use venue on the Farncombe Estate near Broadway, are celebrating after scooping two national awards in one weekend.
Winning Spa Hotel
The hotel, which launched House Spa in February and Foxhill Manor in June, has been named winning spa hotel in the Sunday Times Ultimate 100 British Hotels, a hugely-influential list for travellers at home and abroad. Foxhill Manor was also one of 10 international venues out of 1,000 to win a Prestigious Star Award in London.
“I am immensely proud of all the team,” said Farncombe Estate CEO Andrew Grahame. “These are fabulous achievements and very well deserved. To win the Sunday Times Spa category in just six and a half months is quite extraordinary.”
The Sunday Times Ultimate list is an annual round-up of Britain’s best hotels, highlighting all that is best in British hospitality. “Our writers visit hundreds of British hotels a year,” said the newspaper. “Many are good. Some are excellent. And some are real discoveries, the sort of place you want to tell your friends about. These are the hotels we’ve included in this special issue.”
Most Prestigious Birthday Party Venue
Only two nights before, Foxhill Manor was crowned Most Prestigious Birthday Party Venue, beating international rivals at a glittering award ceremony in London’s Oriental Club.
Prestigious Venues represent some of the world’s best locations, including Goodwood, Gleneagles and Richard Branson’s Necker Island. Farncombe Estate (home of Foxhill Manor) was reviewed and shortlisted by the Prestigious Star Awards panel before going out to a public vote. Judges called it an “idyllic private estate in the heart of the Cotswolds, perfect for hosting memorable events.”
In its category, Foxhill Manor beat international venues such as The Roof Gardens in London; Qualia, a luxury resort on Australia’s Great Barrier Reef; and Albergo Villa Casanova, a 16th century mansion in northern Tuscany.
