BrewDog has decided that its packaging is no longer reflective of where it is as a brewery, and has now revealed the first results of its re-design.
They’ve used real wood-cut and metal letters at one of the UK’s few remaining letterpress studios to match the quality and craft of the beer with the design: “It’s time for our packaging to become as hand-crafted as our beer”.
In addition, they’ve used thick, uncoated paper and applied layers of ink to achieve as much personality and character as the beer inside the bottle. The result, in their words:
“Same beer. Same attitude. Same BrewDog. New approach.”
Beer styles and tasting notes
Usefully, and perhaps reflecting their ever-widening customer base, BrewDog has added beer styles to each product name and tasting notes on the caps to help craft beer newcomers find their feet, as well as a three-word tag-line to each of the beers to capture what they’re all about in an instant.
Re-design roll-out
Over the coming weeks, the rte-design will be applied to the website, cans and other beers – including the stronger beers. The new packaging will be seen on bottles from early August.
