Unilever Food Solutions has announced the engagement of Kirsty Pavey as its new nutritionist dedicated to the out of home business. This appointment strengthens the company, in particular the culinary team and will further enhance its nutritional credentials.
Kirsty was previously employed at the Food and Drink Federation as a Nutrition Executive where she was the policy lead on topics such as salt, sugar, the Responsibility Deal and food addiction among others.
Kirsty has a first class degree in nutrition from The Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen. She joins Unilever Food Solutions as the company is further expanding healthy eating support within its service brand. Unilever Food Solutions equips caterers with tools to help them respond to this growing trend, including calorie counted menu ideas, health and nutrition training for colleges and chefs, commercial companies and the care sector, support within the education sector in the lead up to free school meals, and allergen advice and help in the wake of the new government requirements.
Wendy Duncan, technical manager Unilever Food Solutions UK & Ireland, said “Kirsty is joining the company at a very exciting time, never before has there been so much interest in health and nutrition within the sector. At UFS we’re committed to healthy eating and helping chefs and caterers make a big difference through small changes to their menus. We know Kirsty will make a valuable contribution to the team and we’re delighted to have her on board.”
