Crowne Plaza Manchester city centre has received a contemporary, city-inspired treatment by LRW Interior Design.
Situated between the classic art-deco Daily Express building and the modern Urbis exhibition centre, the design style for this new build hotel is described as ‘industrial past meets 24-hour party people’. A recurring ‘shard’ theme is used throughout the interior design; notably the dramatic double height foyer dominated by a raking wall with abstract cut-out forms. The reception and concierge desks are also linked into this design style with additional pink glass tops cut at sharp angles. Armourcoat polished plaster was specified for the feature wall, complimented by ArmourCast desk fronts in the same colour and finish. Whilst polished plaster can be applied on a wide variety of surfaces and achieve a stunning range of polished and textured plaster finishes, ArmourCast is ideal for shapes and designs that are too complex for a hand-applied finish. Armourcoat finishes are low in VOCs and include up to 60% pre-consumer recycled marble. Armourcoat polished plaster is installed by trained applicators in order to maintain strict standards of workmanship and allow the company to offer a 10 year guarantee.
