After only a few weeks of voting Blackburn Rovers have stormed into a table topping lead in the HandCNews.com Pie League. The away votes are what’s powering their lead, but strong home support is helping too.
Reading are looking good in second spot, good home and away support here.
Norwich City are in third, a few votes could see them second by next week.
Fourth spot and from nowhere Celtic have jumped ahead of Manchester United, the early season leaders, with the only other Scottish table contenders being Kilmarnock.
As you can see below the table is starting to take shape with a few surprise absentees, unless some of the big clubs aren’t so big on pies.
Commenting on the league ‘a well known sporting legend’ stated…“On paper the pie choice at Ewood park doesn’t look inspiring, but the fans are voting in favour, and that’s what counts at the end of the day you need points on the board.
It’s a game of two halves with much of the season to go, so don’t stop believing your team can still get back in the game, you just need to get voting.
The league at the moment is like the early stages of any first half, the game needs a goal, then we will see more action.
There are no easy games in this league and there’s still a long way to go until the final whistle.
There’s alot of end to end stuff in the middle and bottom of the league, but a few votes could catapult teams up the league.
It’s a funny old game and some fans are obviously still setting out their stalls, get involved, show your team some passion and get voting now.”
