Bidvest Foodservice is delighted to announce the acquisition of Caterfood, a purchase that will strengthen its operations and services in the South West.
Caterfood delivers to catering establishments from Cornwall to Gloucestershire through its 40 multi-temperature vehicles. One of the company’s strengths is in its service; providing extended telesales hours and free delivery with no minimum order value, up to six days a week.
Andrew Selley, Chief Executive of Bidvest Foodservice commented: “We are delighted to welcome the team and customers of Caterfood to the Bidvest Foodservice family. The company is already a very successful leading foodservice supplier in the South West, with a real passion for service which aligns well with our drive to provide service excellence and make customers lives easier.
“Operated by a strong dynamic local management team, the company has unrivalled local knowledge and a range of over 4,500 products including local specialities such as MSC accredited local Exmouth Mussels. This sits well within our decentralised model where we can utilise our national strength alongside local expertise to offer customers the service and products they are looking for.”
Caterfoods’ current management and staff will continue to run the business under the same identity and culture. All existing staff will be leading the development of this already successful foodservice operation in the South West. Customers can expect no changes to their usual first class service.
Mark Felton, Executive Chairman of Caterfood said: “We’re excited to become part of the Bidvest Foodservice family, utilising their national credibility and expertise to strengthen our local service in the South West. One of the things we’re most looking forward to is having increased support for product and range development, so that we can offer our customers the best choice in the South West.”
