Grand Union, the well-established London bar group backed by Luke Johnson, has announced the next stage of its metamorphosis into London’s leading bar group – a new site and, with it, a new trading platform.
Grand Union’s ninth site will open in Wapping E1 at Land Securities new development Thomas More Square. The 6300 sq ft site sits between the new London Docks landmark development and St Katherine’s Dock.
Concessionary Partners
With this project, Grand Union will introduce its new concept ‘ Concessionary Partners’. The best artisan coffee shop outfit, offering simply the finest coffee in the Capital, has been hand-picked along with London’s edgiest Barber shop operator, delivering beard trims and razor cuts.
Together with Grand Union’s other exciting additions to be announced soon, Partners will develop the ‘in-bar behaviour’ of guests and create an experiential, multi-faceted environment not yet seen in the industry.
Grand Union CEO Ad am Marshall is excited at the prospect: “ We’ ve taken inspiration from the top players in partnership concepts. 7 months in the making and we’re ecstatic to play a small part in further developing what in my opinion is the greatest food and drinks Capital”.
Grand Union Wapping opens May 2016.
