Porters, the traditional English restaurant previously based in London’s Covent Garden, has recently re-opened in the historic town of Berkhamsted. Following a deal with Shelley Sandzer last year, who acted on behalf of landlords Lothbury Estate, the new 3,000 sq ft site has space for approximately 150 covers, including an outdoor deck for around 80 covers.
Operations Manager, Adam Garfield, who has worked for Porters for 21 years, continues his role at the new restaurant, along with Restaurant Manager, Jackie Brockway, who has also remained with the team. New Head Chef, Michael Short joins Porters, bringing experience from working with Michelin starred chef, Marcus Wareing.
Commenting on the opening, Kit Alexanderat Shelley Sandzer, said: “We are thrilled to have assisted with the relocation of Porters and, following the works renovating the property, they have brilliantly realised the potential we highlighted when sourcing the site. The finished product looks amazing.”
Neil Wornham, Director of Porters restaurant, added: “We have created something that it is stunning visually and atmospherically has a great vibe. It is a pleasure to open again.
