Flintshire based company, C&C Catering Engineers Limited have confirmed their intention to employ more engineers to join their growing company and in addition, are hoping to highlight the exciting opportunities in the engineering industry for both men and women. Founded in 1998, C&C Catering Engineers provides a professional emergency repairs and preventative maintenance service for catering equipment, working with a wide range of clients from the hospitality industry through to schools and local authorities. The planned strategy to hire further engineering staff is in line with a growing need for their services and ambitious plans for expansion over the next 12 months.
C&C Catering Engineers’ director, Julie Dewar has said she welcomes applications from all qualified engineers, but currently with an all-male staff, would be delighted to receive interest from female engineers too. As the female director of an engineering company herself, a traditionally male dominated industry, Julie is keen to present the same opportunities to women who wish to succeed in the role and dispel the perceptions of engineering that have thus far, seen them underrepresented in the field.
Julie has also announced that C&C Catering Engineers will be holding an open day for local teenagers later in the year, aimed at inspiring young people who wish to explore a career in engineering. Open to both boys and girls, Julie is hoping that there will be equal interest.
“We are very much looking forward to welcoming local youngsters on-site to learn more about engineering.” she said. “We do hope we will have female interest too and can help to redress the current gender imbalance of the discipline, encouraging more young women to consider studying engineering. Overall, we are delighted to be able to share our expertise with those who are willing to learn about something new, and potentially, “tomorrow’s engineers”! ”
