Forbes Travel Guide is celebrating 55 years of rating and recommending the world’s best travel experiences, and is marking this milestone with its inaugural London Star Awards.
London is Forbes Travel Guide’s first rated destination in Europe, joining cities in North America, China and Singapore. Since its founding in 1958 as Mobil Travel Guide, the Forbes team of incognito inspectors has travelled the globe to seek out the hotels, restaurants and spas that do it best.
For London, the inspectors scoured everywhere from Kensington to Covent Garden and found six Five-Star hotels, 16 Four-Star hotels, two Five-Star spas and seven Four-Star spas. See below which London spots won the coveted Forbes Travel Guide Star Award, the hospitality industry’s highest service honour.
Forbes Travel Guide provides comprehensive ratings and reviews of hotels, restaurants and spas since its founding in 1958. The inspection process includes unannounced visits by a professional inspector culminating in a formal incognito inspection from which the property is measured against
500 standards. These standards weigh facility and service performance, with a primary emphasis on guest engagement and service delivery, across 17 categories of evaluation, including Arrival Service and Guest Room, with nine classifications such as Courtesy & Manners and Graciousness, Thoughtfulness, and Sense of Personalized Service.
