By Majella Taylor, New Openings Editor, H&C News: Opening soon: Scandal at Rake’s, pure scandalous indulgence.
Liverpool Street’s Rake’s Café Bar is set to launch its brand new brunch concept, Scandal at Rake’s at the end of this month.
Every Saturday, guests will be able to attend one of two afternoon sittings (12pm-2:30pm or 3pm-5:30pm) and enjoy a selection of flavourful brunch dishes along with bottomless drinks. The three dish set-menu is £20, which guests can complement with bottomless prosecco or cocktails for £35 or get properly scandalous with bottomless champagne for £89.
Included in this ticket price will be an array of entertainment from dancers and musicians to a singer and DJ. Hosted by a modern-day Rake, the brunch will present a strong narrative throughout, demonstrating a different side to the Café Bar as it’s known during the week.
Created for all of us who know the feeling of getting too caught up in productivity during the week, the Scandal Brunch invites guests to let their hair down, get a bit messy and allow the lines to blur a little in pure scandalous indulgence.
Based on the Victorian and well-known term, Rake’s Café Bar plays on the concept of a contemporary ‘Rake’. While in the 18th Century, the term ‘Rake’ referred to a man who had a love for high risks and no morals, Rake’s Café Bar is all about the modern-day Rake – either man or woman – and being brave enough to have your own take on life. At Rake’s, there is no formality, no rules.
A contemporary ‘Rake’ believes in working hard and playing hard and is out for bigger rewards than mere pleasure. Dropping the routine and making indulgence the priority for the day is an appetising scandalous thought and that’s what Rake’s Café Bar’s new brunch is here for.
Scandal will bring guests a brand new menu of brunch dishes and bottomless drinks, never before seen at Rake’s. Each dish and drink will offer something a little different, with surprising, unexpected elements throughout, reflecting the confident, daring personality of a Rake.
The Scandal menu will feature dishes like Smashed Avocado on Toast with an added kick of Tomato & Chilli Salsa; Ham, Cheese and Truffle Toastie; Raised Pecan Waffles with Lemon Crème Fraîche, Rose & Fennel Syrup and Seasonal Berries; Rake’s Rainbow Salad, with Parsley Lemon Vinaigrette.
Guests will also be able to enjoy a selection of decadent desserts, including Vanilla and Summer Berries Cheesecake, and Banana Parfait, served with Honeycomb Chocolate Ice Cream.
Sounds interesting…
