Jamaican retired sprinter and multi world record holder Usain Bolt is set to open a new Jamaican bar and restaurant in London next month. The aptly named ‘Tracks & Records’ venue described fully as a Jamaican bar, restaurant and late lounge is operated by SME Group PLC.
SME Group PLC, the UK Tracks & Records franchise owner operate various franchises including KFC, Pizza Hut Home Delivery, Costa Coffee, Warren’s Bakery and hotels. SME is now diversifying its portfolio further to introduce innovative and authentic new, full service and fast casual, concepts to the UK.
This is the UK’s first Tracks & Records restaurant, with three others in Kingston, Ocho Rios and Montego Bay, founded by the Kingston Live Entertainment Group.
On selecting the London location Usain Bolt said: “London is my second home and a place very close to my heart – so it’s brilliant to be sharing a taste of Jamaica in the capital.”
Tracks & Records will offer authentic Jamaican food including jerk chicken, pork and fried fish and bammy in the heart of the capital nearby Liverpool Street Station.
The restaurant will feature Usain Bolt’s sports memorabilia and a soundtrack of reggae and dub courtesy of live DJ sets from some of the leading names from the UK circuit.
Rum enthusiasts will have good reason to try out the new Rum Bar with and extensive collection of over 150 rums from around the world, of which 100 are Jamaican.
