A motorcycle cavalcade will ride out from a historic hotel to Coventry city centre to help launch a massive motoring event.
Coombe Abbey Hotel will be the meeting point for bikers who will help officially launch this year’s MotoFest Coventry.
They will be meeting at the Brinklow-based venue at 8am on Saturday, June 2, when scores of motorcycle enthusiasts are expected to turn out.
Leaving at 9am, the convoy of riders will make their way to the city centre via Brinklow, Brandon, the A46 Eastern Bypass and Leamington Road, before congregating on the ring road at the start line to help start the 2018 proceedings.
General manager of Coombe Abbey, Ron Terry, said: “Motofest has become one of the biggest, best and popular attractions in Coventry’s event calendar, so we are extremely pleased that we can be a part of it this year.
“It is going to be a real sight to see all of the motorbikes making their way up and down Coombe Abbey’s driveway – which is perfect for an event like this to get photos.
“We have played host to meets like this before and they are always absolutely fantastic and look completely amazing with the backdrop of Coombe. It will be something that visitors to the hotel and the park can both enjoy.
“Coombe Abbey is a hotel at the heart of the community, so we are always happy and thrilled when we can be part of special events such as this.”
Motofest Coventry is a two-day festival dedicated to the city’s motoring heritage, one will be running on Saturday, June 2 and Sunday, June 3.
There will be a range of automotive activities taking place from pop-up and demonstrations to static displays and fringe events this year’s weekend, which is now the largest free urban motorsport festival in the UK.
Claire Baughan, from Motofest Coventry, said: “We are grateful to Coombe Abbey Hotel for hosting The Coventry Moto Fest 2018 Ride In.
“We have been given a truly magnificent back drop to kick start this year’s ride in. With a wide diversity of bikes, it will be an amazing sight to see, winding its way through the lanes of Warwickshire and the city streets of Coventry.”
