With Krombacher’s low alcohol beers seeing an incredible 45% sales growth in 2017, the brewery’s Stephan Kofler expects the next two months to be the biggest ever for the category.
Germany’s Krombacher brewery first launched its Low Alcohol Pils and Weizen in 2012 with the beers quickly gathering a following and seeing double digit growth each year.
The Krombacher brewery dominates the low/no alcohol category in its homeland and its Low Alcohol Pils recently won the Best Low Alcohol category in the UK’s prestigious Quality Drink Awards.
Stephan Kofler, Krombacher Sales & Marketing Director, said:
Our low/no alcohol beers have been leading the way in Germany for decades so we’re proud to have been a key part of the quality drive in the UK these past 3 years. Thanks to our special two-step production process and quality ingredients, I firmly believe our low alcohol beers cannot be beaten when it comes taste.”
Kofler continues:
Health has been a key trend in the UK and around the world in the past few years with large numbers of people changing eating and drinking habits. Some are giving up alcohol entirely, others are going for a more quality over quantity approach so demand for great tasting low and no alcohol drinks has been increasing and will continue to rise. With our UK low alcohol sales already up 45% in 2017 against 2016, I expect the next two months to be the biggest ever for the category.”
Available in 33cl bottles (cases of 24), the Krombacher low alcohol duo are made using the brewery’s own specially created two-step process, which ensures flavour, aroma and that famous Krombacher character are retained.
The Low Alcohol Pils contains just 26 Kcal per 100ml and the Weizen contains 31 kcal with both being suitable for vegans and also providing isotonic benefits.
