The Bloomsbury Club Bar is delighted to announce the appointment of George Mitsiou as Head Bartender. Mitsiou, who has previously worked at Mayfair’s award-winning Coya and Novikov, will be bringing his many years of experience in the industry and will oversee the continued development of The Bloomsbury Club Bar.
George began his career at Jägermeister as a Special Events Bartender where he was responsible for Northern Greece. He continued to work across the country creating cocktails and designing new drinks menus, eventually taking up the role as Head Bartender at the five-star Excelsior Hotel, Thessaloniki. After three years in the industry, George decided to move to London and has worked at luxury establishments ever since, which included Bartending at Mayfair’s award-winning Coya and most recently, Novikov, always delivering the highest quality of customer service.
The Bloomsbury Club Bar is a seductive and atmospheric space, creating the perfect backdrop for an evening. The bar is split into two areas: the main bar and the outer terrace bar. The walls in the main bar area are adorned with artwork and books synonymous with the Bloomsbury Set, with a subtle English colonial influence. It has a traditional member’s club feel, allowing guests to relax and enjoy their evening in style.
The Bloomsbury Club Bar serves an extensive selection of cocktails, rare and vintage spirits, exclusive Irish whiskey as well as handpicked wines. Their menu includes an exclusive selection of cocktails named after the synonymous Bloomsbury literary crowd. Highlights include the Duncan Grant (On a Toot) – Chivas Regal 12yr, Byrrh, Luxardo Marraschino, Orange Bitters – the refreshing Virginia Woolf (Clover Club) – No.3 Gin, Lemon, Raspberry Shrub, Cocchi Americano, Egg White and John Maynard Keynes (Wet Congress) – Knob Creek, Crème de Cacao, Green Chartreuse, Peychaud Bitters.
