It’s that time of year again when The White Cross in Richmond welcomes its annual delivery of Young’s Winter Warmer cask ales with breakfast, beer and a band. On Friday, 28th October, the 25th anniversary of this Young’s tradition, the renowned horse and dray will walk the streets of Richmond before arriving at the pub to mark the start of the morning’s festivities.
The annual delivery of the ‘Winter Warmer’ heralds the change of seasons and it’s a unique way to kick start a Friday morning with the weekend just in sight. Starting 8am, tickets include a full English breakfast and two pints of the seasonal Winter Warmer – a malty, sweet brew that’s the perfect tipple to warm the cockles (drink responsibly!).
The breakfast festivities continue with live music from The Greenbery Trio and a quirky double bed style photo booth in the front garden to capture the daybreak events and provide bags of Instragram/selfie opportunities. This year, the year that Young’s celebrated their 185th birthday, there will be an opportunity for guests to take a ride around Richmond on the historical horse drawn dray, guaranteed to blow the morning cobwebs away.
Before leaving, be sure to pour your own bottle of Winter Warmer from the keg mounted on the bar and enjoy in the comfort of your own home.
