The Wellesley Arms in Sutton Benger is launching a weekly pop-up Post Office, providing local residents with access to a range of postal, banking and payment services from the village pub.

Known locally as The Welly, the Wiltshire pub will open for the service every Thursday between 9am and 11am, beginning on 8 October.
Services available will include bill payments, shopping returns, free cash withdrawals, cash and cheque banking, Royal Mail and Parcelforce services and electronic gas and electricity top-ups.
Visitors will also be able to buy tea or coffee from The Welly team while using the service.
The initiative forms part of The Wellesley Arms’ wider role within Sutton Benger, extending the pub’s offer beyond food and drink by providing an additional service for people living in the village and surrounding area.
“We’re delighted to be able to offer something that we hope will be genuinely useful to people in Sutton Benger and the surrounding villages,” says Inn The Sticks Pub Collection owners Mark Florey & Mark Holton.
“A good village pub has always been about more than what’s on the menu. Its somewhere people meet, catch up, and feel part of the community, so bringing a useful local service into the pub felt like a natural fit.”
The Wellesley Arms is part of Inn The Sticks, a collection of five country pubs across Wiltshire and Gloucestershire.
Alongside The Wellesley Arms, the collection comprises The Langley Tap at Langley Burrell, The Neeld Arms at Grittleton, The Bull at Hinton and The King’s Arms at Didmarton.
The Welly Pop-Up Post Office will operate every Thursday from 9am until 11am at The Wellesley Arms, 10 High Street, Sutton Benger, Chippenham.
