Ifuru Island Maldives has appointed Niclas Prokop as General Manager, bringing him back to a destination where he has spent close to a decade of his hospitality career.

Prokop returns to the Maldives following senior leadership assignments in Thailand and Bali, most recently serving as Managing Director of Hanging Gardens of Bali.
His career has included roles across resort operations, sales and marketing, commercial strategy and guest experience.
During his time at Hanging Gardens of Bali, Prokop led the resort across service, guest experience, commercial positioning and operations, with the property achieving Forbes Travel Guide recognition during his tenure.
His new role brings together that experience with his previous years working in the Maldives.
“The Maldives has always been the most special part of my professional journey, so returning here feels very much like coming home,” said Niclas Prokop.
“What attracted me to Ifuru is its individuality. It has personality, energy and the confidence to be different. I am excited to work alongside our owners and the entire Ifuru team to build on what has already been created, strengthen our position internationally and continue creating experiences that our guests genuinely remember.”
Located in Raa Atoll, Ifuru Island comprises 147 sunset-facing beach suites and villas.
The resort operates its Exclusively Yours all-inclusive programme alongside a range of dining, entertainment, wellness and island experiences.
As General Manager, Prokop will oversee the resort’s overall operation and strategic direction.
His responsibilities will include guest experience, commercial performance and the continued development of Ifuru Island across its international markets.
The role will also involve working closely with the ownership and resort team on the future development of the property.
“There are many beautiful resorts in the Maldives, but beauty alone is not what creates a lasting connection. It is the people, the atmosphere and the experiences guests take home with them. Ifuru already has a strong personality, and our opportunity now is to make that personality even stronger.”
Prokop’s appointment comes as Ifuru Island continues to develop its positioning within the Maldivian resort market.
