Chef Andrew Clarke’s Acme Taco is to open its second site at 40ft Brewery’s Dalston taproom on 1 November.

The expansion follows the concept’s launch at 40ft Brewery Blackhorse Road in April.
Located next to Acme Fire Cult, the Dalston site will introduce an expanded menu featuring tostadas, grilled dishes and sharing platters alongside Acme Taco’s established taco offer.
The concept was developed following Clarke’s visits to Mexico City, where he spent time in local kitchens exploring regional Mexican cooking.
Veracruz-born chef Ernesto Puga has been appointed Head Chef for the new site, joining following previous roles at From The Ashes and Cavita.
Tacos will be served in double-layer soft tortillas, with fillings including Beef Suadero with heart, tongue, cheek and sausage; Ribeye Steak with cheese and poblano; Tamworth Pork Castacan; Swaledale Lamb Shoulder Barbacoa; Jalisco Shrimp; and Westholme Wagyu Birria.
A selection of salsas will allow diners to customise the dishes.
The expanded menu will also feature Bluefin Tuna tostada with avocado and salsa macha and Confit Pig’s Head with chicharron and habanada quince.
A borlotti bean and cheese quesadilla will also be available.
Live-fire cooking will feature across the menu, including grilled XL shrimps with achiote butter and lime and Tamworth pork ribs with hot agave and pickled peppers.
Sharing dishes for up to four people will include Grilled Herb-Fed Achiote Chicken and Smoked Pork Hock with adobo sauce, served with salsas, pickles and heirloom corn tortillas.
Desserts will include Chocolate and Black Mole Ganache and Dirty Horchata Cremeux with cinnamon, sweet rice milk and espresso.
The food will be served alongside 40ft Brewery’s craft beers and frozen slushies.
The Dalston opening will broaden Acme Taco’s offer beyond its original Blackhorse Road format while retaining its focus on Mexican flavours and Clarke’s live-fire cooking.
