Glenapp Castle has opened The Nest, a new standalone one-bedroom Garden Cottage Suite set within the estate’s historic 1830s walled garden.

The 21-bedroom Relais & Châteaux hotel on the Ayrshire coast has unveiled the first imagery of the new accommodation, which has been designed as a secluded nature sanctuary within the castle grounds.
The Nest features a separate bedroom with a super king-size bed that can also be twinned, alongside a sitting room with a sofa bed.
It is also home to the largest bathroom at Glenapp Castle, complete with a roll-top bath and generous walk-in shower.
Guests arrive at Glenapp Castle and are met by the personal concierge team before taking a gentle walk, or a short buggy ride of under a minute, from the main castle into the gardens.
From the outset, the experience is designed to shift in pace as guests enter a more private world of landscape, stillness and seclusion.
Hidden behind private gates, The Nest sits within a sheltered Victorian landscape shaped by seasonal planting, birdsong and changing coastal light.
The soundscape of nuthatches, treecreepers and flowing water helps define the atmosphere, while clear night skies extend the sense of escape beyond the immediate garden setting.
The suite has been designed as an extension of its surroundings, with natural textures and a soft tonal palette reflecting the landscape beyond.
A fluid layout between the bedroom and sitting room, combined with generous garden-facing windows, draws nature into the space and supports a feeling of rest and reconnection.
Self-care is central to the experience.
The Nest includes a secluded private garden, not visible to others, with a private sauna and natural barrel cold plunge for hot-and-cold immersion.
An outdoor shower is located next to the sauna, with robes, towels and flip-flops provided for guests.
The accommodation has been designed for complete ease, with thoughtful in-room provisions, discreet housekeeping throughout the day and intuitive service ensuring comfort is quietly maintained.
Across the wider 110-acre estate, guests can also enjoy forest bathing, wild swimming, yoga, foraging and woodland walks.
Created from a former tearoom, The Nest brings together heritage, landscape and restorative escape within one of Scotland’s distinctive luxury country house settings.
The opening adds a new private wellness-led accommodation experience to Glenapp Castle, strengthening the hotel’s wider offer for guests seeking seclusion, nature, comfort and a deeper connection to the Ayrshire coast.
