Reading, Set, Go! Shake Shack to Open First Shack in Reading

June 6, 2026

Shake Shack, the global burger brand from New York, is heading to Reading in summer 2026, bringing all the classic favourites to locals, commuters, and visitors alike.

Perfectly positioned in the bustling heart of the town, Shake Shack Reading invites guests to relax, refuel, and enjoy the full Shack experience. The menu will feature the iconic ShackBurger®, Crinkle-Cut Fries, Flat-Top Dogs, and hand-spun shakes, all served with Shake Shack’s signature hospitality and community-first spirit.

While Shake Shack fans in Reading may remember being able to enjoy the brand via delivery for a short time in 2020, this marks the first time the Shack experience can be enjoyed in person, right in the town centre.

“We’re absolutely stoked to be opening Shake Shack’s first permanent Reading location, and our 20th location in the UK. It’s such a vibrant town with a strong food scene, and it feels like a natural next step as we continue to grow across the UK. We can’t wait to put down roots here.” Richard Franks, Business Director at Shake Shack UK.

Ahead of the opening, Shake Shack has unveiled new hoarding at the site by artist Nerone, offering a preview of what’s to come as excitement builds for the launch.
