Fairmont St Andrews has announced the appointment of Kristian Campbell as General Manager.

Campbell joins the luxury Scottish resort with more than two decades of leadership experience spanning hotels, resorts and service-led organisations, bringing expertise in operational excellence, guest experience, commercial performance and people development.
He joins Fairmont St Andrews following a senior executive role with Elanic Medical, where he oversaw a period of significant business growth and development. Prior to that, he served as Resort General Manager at Crieff Hydro Resort, managing a large multi-site operation and supporting major investment projects.
Campbell is also familiar with St Andrews, having previously served as General Manager of Rusacks Hotel. During his time there, he helped strengthen the property’s position within the luxury hospitality market, driving commercial growth, enhancing guest satisfaction and building strong relationships across the international golf community.
His career has been characterised by a focus on operational excellence, team development and delivering memorable guest experiences, positioning him well to lead Fairmont St Andrews through its next phase of growth.
Commenting on his appointment, Campbell said: “Having previously worked in St Andrews, I know what makes this part of Scotland so special. Its history, natural beauty and global reputation are remarkable, but it is the warmth of the people and strength of the community that leave a lasting impression.
“Fairmont St Andrews is an exceptional property with a talented team and a reputation built over many years. I am excited to return and help shape the next chapter, focusing on outstanding service, memorable stays and continued growth across every part of the business.
“As the resort approaches a quarter of a century of welcoming guests, there is a real opportunity to celebrate everything that has been achieved while continuing to evolve for the future. I look forward to working alongside colleagues, local partners and the wider leadership team to build on that success.”
Campbell takes up the role at a significant point in the resort’s history as Fairmont St Andrews approaches its 25th anniversary.
His priorities will include enhancing the guest experience, developing talent across the organisation, strengthening local partnerships and ensuring the resort continues to be recognised as one of Scotland’s leading luxury hospitality destinations.
Situated on a 520-acre coastal estate overlooking St Andrews Bay, Fairmont St Andrews is renowned for its golf facilities, dining experiences, wellness offering and Scottish hospitality. Under Campbell’s leadership, the resort aims to continue building on its established reputation while embracing new opportunities for innovation and growth.
