Meliá Pattaya Hotel has appointed Alexander Lopez as its new General Manager.

Lopez joins the 234-room hotel, which opened in Pattaya in February 2025, following more than two years as General Manager of W Koh Samui in Thailand.
With Swedish and Spanish heritage, Lopez brings extensive international hospitality experience gained across Europe and Asia. Before his role at W Koh Samui, he served as Interim General Manager at W Maldives, having previously joined the resort as Resort Manager.
A graduate of Les Roches International School of Hotel Management, Lopez began his hospitality career at the Sheraton Stockholm Hotel in 2009 before progressing into senior leadership roles across Spain, Switzerland, China, the Maldives and Thailand.
His experience in Thailand spans more than ten years and includes positions at W Koh Samui, Vana Belle, a Luxury Collection Resort in Koh Samui, and The Westin Siray Bay Resort & Spa in Phuket.
Lopez has also contributed to the wider hospitality industry through membership of the W Hotels Global Brand GM Advisory Board and the Marriott International Rooms Advisory Board APEC.

His strong operational leadership and understanding of guest expectations in this region place him in excellent stead to oversee the hotel’s continued growth.”

Located in central Pattaya, the hotel is positioned within easy reach of Bangkok and forms part of Meliá Hotels International’s growing presence in the Asia Pacific region.
