March Kitchen Porter of the Month Announced.
We are delighted to report its been another active month for the Kitchen Porters Club, examining entries for their Kitchen Porter of the Month competition. As always in what has become a sought after accolade entries were received from across the UK, with most sectors of our industry well represented.
Following careful consideration by the judges, head of the judging panel Meiko UK managing director, Paul Anderson decided the March Kitchen Porter of the Month award goes to Abdullah Khair, Kitchen Porter at Sam’s Waterside, Brentford, West London.
Jacob Keen Downs, Head Chef of Sam’s Waterside entered Abdullah Khair saying: “Abdullah has worked for the company for a number of years now, he started working at Sam’s Riverside when it opened and has travelling to our latest opening, Sam’s Waterside last November. He like all KP’s is the backbone of the kitchen, loyal, trustworthy and has a great attitude towards work and people. He also helps out with plenty of kitchen prep as well as smashing his own job.”
Meiko’s Paul Anderson told us: “It is a pleasure reviewing the entries for the Kitchen Porters Club Kitchen Porter of the Month competition. It is also a great pleasure when the awards are announced, as we often see happy kitchen porters and the colleagues that nominated them celebrating on social media. Many are modelling the Kitchen Porters Club official aprons we send the winners, and as such proud to be members of the Kitchen Porters Club, as they should be.”
Knowing what a success Sam’s Waterside has been since opening at The Brentford Project we can only imagine how challenging keeping everything as it should be back of house would be. So, well done Abdullah from the team at H&C News.
