By Angela Green: Director of Hospitality appointed to mastermind F&B at £1.3Bn Olympia redevelopment.
Olympia, one of Europe’s largest regeneration projects currently under development by Yoo Capital and Deutsche Finance International, has appointed Former MGM Resorts Vice President of Hospitality, Abe Berry, to the senior leadership team.
In his new role as Director of Hospitality, Berry will oversee the Food and Beverage offering at the £1.3 billion redevelopment, set to elevate Olympia within the heart of London’s cultural story.
The reimagining of Olympia, London’s most ambitious development in recent years, will showcase the best entertainment London has to offer on opening in 2025. A new theatre, a 4,400 person live music venue, public art exhibitions and performance spaces will sit alongside 135,000 square feet of dedicated F&B space.
Signalling London’s status as a culinary capital, Olympia will offer 66,000 square feet of space for bars, restaurants, and markets, set within lush, landscaped gardens, under a new glass-topped roof designed by Heatherwick Studio. With 4,000 covers over 14 new restaurants and bars, the new Olympia welcomes a notable shift from the previous set-up of one public restaurant. Forming part of the wider development, a Grade II Listed Building will be home to a new destination restaurant, bringing 38,000 square feet of beautifully restored dining and entertainment space.
With over twenty years of delivering best-in-class luxury hospitality, Berry specialises in large-scale F&B transformations. Starting at Hyatt Hotels, his career has taken him all over the United States, including an 8 year stretch at MGM Resorts. While there, Berry led the F&B transformation in the half a billion dollar renovation of the former Monte Carlo resort and casino, into the sleek, ultra-modern Park MGM Las Vegas it is today.
Abe Berry commented: “Rarely does an opportunity like this come your way. A chance to do something very meaningful with great people. This project will touch a lot of people because we are focused on the greater good of the community and the evolution of a landmark. I am blessed and absolutely thrilled to be part of the transformation of Olympia.”
Lloyd Lee, Managing Partner, Olympia comments: “The reason that we’re really excited about bringing Abe on is that we envision that Olympia will provide a guest and visitor experience of a quality and variety that London has never seen before.”
