By Angela Greene: Institute of Hospitality membership celebrates 12% growth.
Over the last 12 months the Institute of Hospitality’s membership has grown by over 12% to more than 15,000 members worldwide. Welcoming individuals, students, apprentices, and businesses alike.
Over the past year some 150 individuals have been provided with funded membership from the Institute of Hospitality’s charitable fund available across the globe to people who need support to remain or enter into membership. A committee sit quarterly to review applications, or more often if required.
Businesses are using membership as a key benefit tool to add to their recruitment packages alongside using it as a growth and incentive tool to retain team members.
The Institute currently grants professional recognition to more than 1,000 programmes and qualifications offered by over 100 providers and businesses across 21 countries.
The industry body continues to develop new equality, diversity and inclusion resources and have refocused and relaunched the Future Forum to DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging) Council.
Expansion of professional resources includes extending mentoring to Master Innholders.
As resources from membership continue to grow these are used to strengthen a compelling membership proposition, including investment in live events.
This progress sees the Institute of Hospitality continue to build its brand across the UK and the world, and its commitment to a wealth of activities programmed for 2024. These events and wider membership benefits capture the depth of value offered to those who join, as well as those who remain as a valued part of the global professional body for the hospitality industry.
