Vori restaurant in Holland Park has announced the appointment of Mustafa Cetinkaya as the restaurant’s new Head Chef.
A highly respected and experienced chef, who joins from St James’s Estiatorio Milos, Yeni and Smokestak. Cetinkaya took the position earlier this month and is looking forward to breaking new ground with Vori.
Working closely with the team to take over from chef Maria Mpaxevanidou – who was the mainstay of Vori since its inception, and in partnership with founder Markos Tsimikalis, Cetinkaya starts his new role with an exciting new Autumn and breakfast menu. Dishes include Psari (grilled catch of the day), Matsata (traditional home-made pasta served with seafood, bottarga or manitaria ragu), and Arni (lamb chops, walnut & roasted pepper salsa) as well as Gemista (seasonal vegetables, filled with rice, herbs and dried fruit).
As ever, the emphasis will be on the quality of ingredients and authenticity of spirit.
Chef Mustafa Cetinkaya speaking of his new role said: “Vori started really strong creating a name for itself with its simple, seasonal and soulful cooking. I can’t wait to elevate it further, work with great seasonal ingredients and produce and even more so with fire; a true ode to the identity of Vori and soulful Greek food. I really enjoy working with passionate, dedicated and committed hospitality professionals, and the team of Vori is truly remarkable.”
Markos Tsimikalis, Vori’s owner is delighted with the appointment commenting: “I love working with passionate chefs that enjoy creating and cooking great tasting dishes with fresh ingredients and produce. Mustafa brings a wealth of experience, passion, and creativity but most importantly: he truly loves cooking, Greek food and cooking with fire. I cannot wait for our guests to taste and enjoy his delicate and elevated flavours that come out in his dishes.”
