Earlier this week Gaucho Cardiff threw a star-studded party to celebrate the opening of its first restaurant in Wales in the heart of the city’s historic St David’s Centre.
The restaurant opening was joined by Lawrence Dallaglio and Jamie Roberts, Strictly Come Dancing professional dancers, and Becky Tong on the decks.
Landing on Welsh soil for the first time in its thirty-year history, the restaurant launch saw queues forming down the street from early evening. Guests were greeted by tantalising tango dancers moving to the music from DJ Becky Tong.
Guests dined on the restaurant’s signature sustainable steaks, showstopping South American canapés and bowl food whilst sipping on cocktails including the Citrus Negroni, a Clean Paloma and the standout Amber Noir, crafted using Welsh gin, Hensol Castle, a traditional copper pot London Dry gin.
Argentina is home to the second largest community of Welsh speakers outside of Wales and has always been kindred spirits with the country. The celebration of the modern Argentine steakhouse’s official launch night was the perfect introduction to Cardiff, providing a taster of what diners can expect from the latest Gaucho opening.
