Dame Kelly Holmes, Marcus Wareing and Andrew Wong have been confirmed as speakers at the launch of the Gold Service Scholarship 2024.
The trio will join Adam Hyman, founder of Code Hospitality; Robbie Bargh, founder of the Gorgeous Group, and Simon Rawlings, creative director of David Collins Studio, as part of a high-profile launch of this year’s competition.
The event will see the speakers discuss what it takes to succeed in hospitality, high performance mindsets, and the role of service in a restaurant experience.
Dates have also been released for the quarter and semi-finals of the competition, with the former taking place on Saturday 21st October 2023 at the Langham and Monday 23rd October 2023 at Hotel Cafe Royal, the latter takes place on Monday, 20th November at Rosewood London.
The Trustees of the scholarship are inviting potential candidates and their employers to the event, giving them the opportunity to hear from some of the most senior names in the hospitality sector.
The competition is open to those currently employed, working in a food and beverage front-of-house role, and aged 22-28.
The Scholarship offers motivational and educational prizes, which enhance skills and knowledge for those participating.
These opportunities include a bespoke four-day course at the renowned hotel school in Lausanne, study trips to vineyards in Europe for the scholar and winning finalists, special work experience at the Mandarin Oriental in Bangkok and Hong kong and a range of other courses for those reaching the quarter and semi-finals.
