Fish on Friday, or any day with Krombacher Beer Batter Recipe.
This recipe makes enough beer batter for 4 fish fillets and costs 2.95.
Ingredients
- 400ml Krombacher Pils
- 200g plain flour
- 60g cornflour
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 4 fish fillets
- Neutral oil, for deep frying
Instructions
Add the flour, cornflour, smoked paprika, salt and baking powder to a large bowl. Mix to combine.
Transfer around a cup of the flour mixture to a plate for coating the fish and set aside.
Pour the beer into the large mixing bowl with the flour mixture and whisk to combine. Avoid over-mixing the batter. Some lumps are fine. Rest for 15-20 minutes.
Coat the fish fillets with the flour mixture, then dip into the beer batter.
Gently place the fish into a fryer or pan filled with oil heated to 180C and fry for 6-9 minutes, until the batter is golden and crisp. Drain slightly and season with salt before serving.
Enjoy with a bottle of Krombacher
