By Denis Sheehan MIH: The Institute of Hospitality Golf Day, in Partnership with Caterer.com opens to individual players.
As all who play know, golf can be many things but above all else it is social, a great way to make friends.
Once you’ve hit that first drive, it’s just you and your companions with the handicapping system ensuring you have a fair round. The sport is a great leveller bringing people together to enjoy something beyond the game itself, socialising and enjoying an afternoon in the fresh open air.
So, with that in mind, and inspired by a call we received last week enquiring about single player slots at the Institute of Hospitality Golf Day, in Partnership with Caterer.com, we have opened the day up for individuals to join the fun.
At the moment 15 of the 18 four ball teams available are confirmed, so we have 12 individual player places available. We will continue to take four ball team bookings, and anyone that wants to attend and take part themselves, or with others can now do so without the need for a team booking.
The day takes place at The Belfry on Thursday 25th May 2023, the only golf course in the world to have hosted 4 Ryder Cups. Following an afternoon of golf, The Sutton Suite becomes the 19th, and then hosts a sumptuous dinner in the evening. Following dinner, a Prize Draw and Auction raises funds to support the Institute of Hospitality Youth Council, which saw more that £5,000 raised at last year’s golf day.
If you want to take a look at how much fun was had last year, and the incredible list of industry names supporting the event, a review with video interviews can be seen here.
