Rob Swain, Chief Operating Officer at KFC UK & Ireland, has been appointed as the new Chief Operating Officer for KFC Global, effective from January 2022.
Over the past five years, Swain has led his team with a consistent and inspirational focus on operational excellence – and, from the distribution crisis in 2018 to the more recent COVID response, he has played a crucial role navigating KFC through some of its most complex challenges.
Swain began his KFC journey as an Area Coach in 2009, joined the Central & Eastern Europe team in 2013, undertaking various key roles, including a secondment as General Manager, before returning to the UK&I team in 2016 to his current role as KFC UK&I COO.
Rob Swain, outgoing Chief Operating Officer at KFC UK & Ireland, said: “It’s been an absolute pleasure working with Paula and the rest of the team over the past five years. It’s been a challenging, but incredible rewarding role and I’m so grateful to the whole of my team, and the entire KFC UK & Ireland family, for their support. I’m looking forward to this next step and will be taking all of the experiences I’ve had here with me – I’m sure they’ll serve me in good stead!”
To replace Swain, KFC will be welcoming Lucy Taylor into the role of Chief Operations Officer for KFC UK & Ireland. Taylor, who has previously worked in the region as an Area Coach, has been the Chief Operating Officer in the MenaPakT region for the past seven years.
Paula MacKenzie, General Manager at KFC UK & Ireland, said: “I’d like to personally thank Rob for his incredible commitment to our business over the last five years. He’s been front and centre as we’ve tackled some of our biggest hurdles – and we simply couldn’t have made it through without his leadership and tireless commitment to operational excellence. We wish him all the very best in his new role and look forward to continuing to work together – we’re proud that restaurants across the world will now benefit from his leadership.
“At the same time, I am delighted to welcome Lucy back to KFC UKI and cannot wait to begin working with her. We’ve got a really strong belief in internal opportunity at KFC, as these moves demonstrate.”
