Wasps’ hospitality business is buzzing after the club revealed significant growth in custom from businesses attending first team matches.
The black-and-golds have seen a 62 per cent increase in hospitality revenue last season compared to the 2015/16 season – the club’s first full season in Coventry.
Wasps’ hospitality suites now average around 950 people per game, including 140 hospitality members with seasonal memberships spanning across the finance and wealth management sectors through to legal and construction.
The growth in hospitality has dovetailed with major investments in the match day experience as Wasps look to expand their reach even further over the course of the 2018/19 season.
Investments include transforming a suite into what is now known as the Heineken Lounge, where seasonal members are treated to a pre-match commentary by members of the first team after they have enjoyed a two-course carvery lunch.
The club has also secured partnerships with Purity Ale, Majestic Wine and Robert Welch cutlery to provide a premium hospitality experience.
James Wootton, Head of Commercial Sales at Wasps, said: “The hospitality side of Wasps’ business has gone from strength-to-strength in recent years as we have continued to develop a diverse offering that now spans across six restaurants.
“They range from a gastro lunch and exclusive cash bar in the Legends Lounge, through to three-course meals in our Jaguar Suite, Premier Lounge and STEAK. Restaurants that are supplemented with perks such as exclusive pre-match talks from first team players.
“Hospitality is a fantastic way for businesses to not only treat their employees and clients to a day out, but to also network with like-minded business people, which is why seasonal members are now able to benefit from attending quarterly networking events that Wasps run.
“As a club we are set for another year of strong growth in the stands, and we’d urge as many businesses as possible to show their support for Dai Young and his players as they bid to challenge at the top end of the Gallagher Premiership.”
