Borough Market based British restaurant Roast has announced that it is opening a second site, Roast Kitchen, in late 2018.
Opened in 2005, Roast is located in the heart of Borough Market, one of London’s largest and oldest food markets. Known for serving some up some of the finest roast dinners in the capital, Roast has become the go to place for Londoners and visitors alike seeking classical British cuisine with the promise of only the finest quality ingredients.
Set to launch in the autumn, Roast Kitchen is an all-day dining concept that will embody the original Roast DNA through a stripped back, more casual dining experience.
Across two floors, a utilitarian ‘kitchen’ style interior creates a more relaxed atmosphere in which consumers can enjoy favoured classics from the Roast Restaurant menu, such as the best-selling Pork Belly, along with a host of new and exciting dishes exclusive to Roast Kitchen.
Heading up the kitchen will be ex-Bread Street Kitchen Head Chef Paul Shearing. After rising through the ranks at some of London’s most-loved neighbourhood restaurants such as Odette’s and private members club Tramp, Paul further honed his skills in modern British food at the renowned One Aldwych before moving onto European cuisine at Village East and eventually landing at Bread Street Kitchen where he took the restaurant from strength to strength.
John Turner, CEO at Roast Group comments “We’re extremely excited to be expanding the Roast Restaurant group after a very successful 12 years in business.
“Roast Kitchen will epitomise everything we stand for, serving traditional British dishes made using only the finest ingredients, in a less formal take on our original Borough Market restaurant.”
