A Lancashire hotel is set to raise vital funds for a regional charity that it supports through a black tie evening as part of its year-long fundraising drive.
The glittering event, which will take place at Best Western Plus Samlesbury Hotel on Friday, November 3, will raise funds for the hotel’s chosen corporate charity of the year; North West Cancer Research.
The hotel has supported North West Cancer Research since embarking on the partnership at the start of the year, carrying out various fundraising challenges and events in order to raise money and the gala evening will see yet more funds raised for the worthy charity.
Guests will enjoy a champagne and canapé reception, four-course meal, live entertainment from professional vocalist Becky Chamberlin and a raffle and silent auction which includes items such as a holiday in Spain and an 18 hole golf day for 4 people at the Belfry Hotel & Resort.
Alastair Richards, CEO, North West Cancer Research, said: “On behalf of everyone at North West Cancer Research I would like to thank all the staff at Squire Hotels for their continued support.
“As a charity, we rely on the support of companies such as Squires Hotels who fundraise throughout the year to help us fund life-saving cancer research here in the North West.
“The team is looking forward to the ball and I’m sure it will be a great evening for all.”
Management at Squire Hotels, the independent hotel group that owns the Lancashire based hotel, selected the charity due to a number of its staff having recently fought, or currently undergoing treatment for, the illness as well as having close friends and family suffering from the disease.
Jodi Masterson, director of operations at Squire Hotels, said: “Cancer is a subject that sadly is very close to the hearts of a lot of members of the Squire Hotels family and as a group we respect and support every member of the team in as many ways as possible.
“On deciding we would have a charity as a corporate partner for the year, it made sense to choose North West Cancer Research which works extremely hard in providing support to people and families within the areas in which our hotels, and staff, operate.
“We look forward to hosting a truly successful event for the charity as well as raise vital awareness of the great work that is carries out within the region.”
North West Cancer Research supports cancer research projects based at the University of Liverpool, Bangor University and Lancaster University and operates in the areas where the group currently has hotels.
