Chelsea bar and restaurant, The Botanist on Sloane Square, has closed for approximately ten weeks to undergo an extensive refurbishment by ETM and Russell Sage Studio. Post a significant financial investment, the ETM venue will re-open in early October with a brand new-look serving an all-day brasserie-style menu from newly appointed Executive Chef Ameya Bhalekar. Alongside the new food offering, there will be a strong focus on Champagne, wine and botanical cocktails.
Bhalekar brings a wealth of experience gleaned from a collection of high-end London restaurants including Caprice Holdings’ 34 Mayfair, The Savoy, Rules Restaurant and Soho House’s High Road House.
Russell Sage Studio, the designers behind ETM’s Aviary, Greenwood and The Botanist Broadgate Circle as well as The Zetter Townhouse, Savoy Grill and Social Eating House, has created a new scheme with signature features including a focal 45-seater bar complete with an expansive brass overhead display. A sophisticated colour palette of navy, green and rose has been introduced whilst the site’s heritage is acknowledged through Sir Hans Sloane-inspired prints and bespoke botanical tiles.
Tom Martin comments: “The Botanist was one of our first ETM venues and is a much-loved piece of the Sloane Square landscape. As we enter our 10th year of trading, we feel it is a great time to revitalise one of our most successful venues, ensuring it continues to thrive by providing our loyal customers with a current and engaging offer.”
