Researching, Talking, and Reporting on the food and drink Supply Chain
We are delighted to announce that the Hospitality and Catering Supply Chain Roundtable 2017 is now almost fully booked. Delegates from across our industry will be taking part representing restaurants, hotels, contract caterers, pubs, bars, cafes, hospital trusts, universities and government.
The Hospitality and Catering Supply Chain Roundtable 2017 is taking place on Tuesday 25th April 2017 at Café Spice Namaste, hosted by Cyrus Todiwala OBE. The event was conceived by Cyrus, wanting to enable the sharing of knowledge and experience between like-minded people in relation to the food and drink supply chain.
Delegates applied to attend and be part of the event through a survey and the survey has collected data that in part sets the agenda for the day, giving valuable insights from across our industry…
- To what extent companies purchase food ingredients
- Which categories of food they purchase
- How they buy ingredients
- Where their suppliers are based
- What their buying priorities are
- How important is sustainability to purchasing policy
- Traceability, how GMO’s are tracked in the food supply chain
The survey then looks at how purchasing policies influence menus, including…
- Vegetarian and vegan options
- Catering for people with food allergies and intolerances
- The provision of gluten free options
The survey also enables delegates to set out their own priorities, issues and questions relating to the supply chain and these will be discussed and debated on the day.
We are also delighted to announce that we have a new sponsor partner joining the event team, Partners In Purchasing.
Partners In Purchasing MD Diana Spellman founded the company in 1998 and has pioneered ethical, sustainable and environmental supply chain procurement.

Partners In Purchasing are delighted to be involved with the supply chain round table since sourcing from Farm for our sector has particular challenges to meet the quality, range, delivery, storage and convenience requirements of the kitchen. Our agricultural community and supply chain will benefit from understanding these challenges more closely. I’m at the table primarily to listen and learn, and look forward to meeting all delegates on the day.
The event is based on a series of roundtable events organised by H&C News since 2013. The events have previously covered guest experience for hotels and the adoption and use of social media across the hospitality and catering industry.

Our latest supply chain roundtable event has followed a format that is established and works. The surveys feed the agenda, the delegates share knowledge and experience, we then report back on both. We were more than pleased when Cyrus approached us to work with him on the supply chain event. The response from our readership has been equally pleasing.
We look forward to sitting down with the delegates on the day and listening to how the supply chain and procurement works in their businesses.
When we started speaking with Diana it was immediately clear that her many years of experience in procurement would add significant value to the event. We very much look forward to working with Diana and the Partners In Procurement team.
