The Headland Hotel & Spa in Cornwall is delighted to announce that its Samphire Restaurant has been awarded 2 AA Rosettes. The same inspection also saw The Headland retain its coveted 4 Silver Star status, but with an even higher score. Only 50 hotels in the UK share this exceptional rating.
The Rosettes are testament to the skills – and passion – of executive chef Christopher Archambault, whose seasonally changing menus are prepared with the best produce from his handpicked selection of local suppliers, many of whom he knows personally.
Particularly singled out for praise by the AA’s exacting inspectors were Christopher’s “very well executed” foie gras & black truffle terrine, cherries & toasted brioche and his panna cotta served with local strawberries & hazelnuts which was described as being “spot on”. Said Christopher, ‘I am immensely proud of our achievement. Those in the know will understand the challenges involved. The dangling carrot of consistency is a forever taunt that we take seriously and tackle daily to ensure dishes continually surpass our guests’ expectations. I want to give heartfelt thanks not only to all the brigade, but to the directors and the general manager who quickly believed in our potential.”
