Chichester Hotel Company LLP, represented by Savills, has sold The Ship Hotel in Chichester to Harbour Hotels through a private sale process for in excess of the £6 million guide price.
The Grade II listed boutique hotel features 37 bedrooms themed in the style of recent productions at the nearby Festival Theatre as well as a stylishly refurbished restaurant. It was offered with detailed planning consent for a large extension including 25 additional bedrooms.
The property is located within Chichester’s Roman walls, close to the thriving high street and historic cathedral. The city has an increasing appeal for both the corporate and leisure visitor markets due to direct trains from London Victoria and the nearby Goodwood horse and motor racing.
Mike Warren, managing director of Harbour Hotels, comments: “We are very excited to be taking the Harbour Hotels brand to Chichester; it’s an exciting location and a key strategic position from our perspective. The Ship is a prestigious, landmark property with some outstanding features. There is an excellent team of staff at the property and we are delighted to have such an addition to the Harbour Hotels portfolio.”
