With a career that spans venues in all corners of London, James Eaton has now been appointed General Manager of the Inception Group’s latest opening, Mr Fogg’s Tavern in Covent Garden, launching this month.
James will be looking after the property of Jules Verne’s fictional character, Philieas Fogg, left to him by his late Aunt Gertrude. James’s rich experience of running London bars includes, most recently, the extremely popular The Commander Porterhouse and Oyster Bar in Notting Hill. This makes him the ideal host for the many who will, this Autumn, descend on this large bar and restaurant with a capacity of over 150 people, set over 2 floors.
Mr Foggs Tavern, Covent Garden
Set over two floors, Mr Fogg’s Tavern on St Martin’s Lane Covent Garden, will have an ‘upstairs downstairs’ theme with a Victorian Tavern on the ground floor and a refined Gin Parlour and Salon upstairs.
Mr Fogg’s Tavern will be brought to London by the Inception Group and will be the sister venue to the award-winning Mr Fogg’s Residence. The downstairs space will feature a cosy wooden interior with 19th century oddities and trinkets adorning the walls and hanging from the ceiling. The kitchen will serve up real ales, ‘mother’s ruin’ cocktails and grog in traditional tankards and honest fare such as traditional pies and game roasts with all the trimmings. The upstairs Gin Parlour and Salon will feature ornate glass chandeliers, antique theatrical props and wigs and offer Tipsy Tea and cocktails.
