The Pastry World Cup is the most amazing and prestigious pastry competition in the world, and was held Sunday 25th – Monday 26th January at the Sirha Exhibition in Lyon, France.
21 countries competed, and the UK team delivered its best result ever in achieving 6th place against truly formidable opposition.
The UK Team was:
- President/Team Coach: Martin Chiffers – International Consultant Patissier – Chocolatier, “Chiffers” Mitsukoshi Ginza Tokyo
- Team Captain/Candidate Chocolate: Barry Johnson – Principal Chocolatier Rococo Chocolates
- Candidate Sugar: Javier Mercado – Patisserie Teaching Chef, Le Cordon Bleu London
- Candidate Ice: Andrew Blas – Executive Pastry Chef, Cafe Royal Hotel
