The Hotel Marketing Association, the hotel industry group of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, has elected Ed Purnell as its new Chairman. He succeeds Linda Moore who remains on the HMA Committee after a two-year term as Chairman.
Ed, former Vice Chairman, has worked for some of the world’s most recognisable hotel brands in senior marketing roles, including InterContinental Hotels Group, Le Méridien, Small Luxury Hotels and Jumeirah Hotels & Resorts.
“Moving forwards, we shall be evolving the HMA’s annual schedule of events and networking opportunities to ensure that members and attendees gain access to the knowledge, techniques and strategies appropriate for today’s hospitality marketers,” said Ed Purnell.
Katarina Nielson of Flock Associates and Steve Lowy of Umi Digital have been elected as new members of the committee.
Committee members re-elected for 2014/15 were: David Bailey, CBRE Hotels Ltd; David Bowie, Oxford Brookes University; Caroline Calvert, Red Carnation Hotels; Pamela Carvell, Pampas Marketing; Bernice Chan, Choice Hotels Europe; Martin Evans, The Tourism Business; Kay George, Hilton Worldwide; Sunita Lamba, Radisson Blu Edwardian; Carole Luck, Marketing Consultant; Andrea McKay, The Hotel Collection; Linda Moore, Moore Communications.
