An H&C News advertiser making the traditional hand crafted beers Seafarer and Pier 59 contacted us a few weeks ago very excited about what an enquiry had led to. It transpired that a restaurant in Lincoln’s Inn Fields, London – Coopers Restaurant and Bar – had requested samples, liked them and now couldn’t order more quick enough as they were selling ‘like hot cakes’.
We were asked us to give Coopers a mention as a thank you for the business the advertiser had received, but we decided a visit to investigate the beer as well as the restaurant was more in order.
We called in Nick Green who manages Villeroy & Boch’s hotel and restaurant business, just the man for the job, Nick agreed, came with us and here’s his report…
“Sometimes out of the blue you get the opportunity to discover a ‘hidden gem’.
On the pretext that Coopers stocked Seafarer and Pier 59 “White Star Line” from the Oceanic Steam Navigation Company, I had the pleasure of lunch.
Firstly the welcome by Denise was a great example of meeting Customer Expectations.
Secondly the beer was great.
Thirdly the food was a delight with a great Crab Tian followed by pan fried Sea Bream served with the wonderful “casual dining” service that everyone is striving for!
Finally the wine list personally overseen by owner Paul Cooper was a delight for Central London, concise but well priced, I would especially recommend the Coopers Burgundy, Chateau L’Hestrange. A great discovery with “New Wave” tables and worth a visit!”
We couldn’t agree more with Nick, simply a great restaurant in every respect.
Huge thanks to our hosts Denise and Paul, we will be back soon.
If you want to sample and see why these beers are selling ‘like hot cakes’ just send us an email like our friend’s at Coopers did, maybe we’ll be writing your venue up next.
