Free From Eating Out Awards gather support

May 14, 2014

Momentum is growing at the Free from Eating Out Awards with sponsors adding their support, and the Awards opening for entries in just a short time – 27 may.

Sodexo UK & Ireland is the headline sponsor, whilst Nairns, Greens and Riso Gallo are sponsoring specific categories, and Celia and Venice Bakery are joining as Cloud sponsors.

Entry details

• Entry for the 2014 awards opens 27 May 2014 and closes on 31st August.

• A winner (or joint winner), highly commended and commended in each category or sub-category will be awarded.

• The presentation of the awards will take place at Food Matters Live, in November 2014.

• The Awards will be showcased at the Allergy & Freefrom Show in Olympia in July 2014, Liverpool in October 2014 and at Olympia in June 2015.

Categories

Category 1. Restaurants and hotel restaurants
Sponsored for 2014 by Riso Gallo

a. Individual restaurants
b. Restaurant chains

Any restaurant, including hotels, offering 3 course meals including
a minimum of  • 2 starters   • 3 main dishes   • 2 desserts
that are gluten free, and can be either dairy free or egg free.

Category 2. Pubs and pub restaurants
Sponsored for 2014 by Green’s Gluten-free Beers

a. Individual pubs
b. Pub chains

Any pub serving meals which include
a minimum of • 3 main dishes   • 2 desserts
that are gluten free, and can be either dairy free or egg free.

Category 3. Cafés, coffee shops, take aways etc
Sponsored for 2014 by Nairn’s

a. Individual cafés, coffee shops or take aways
b. Chains of cafés, coffee shops or take aways

Any outlet offering a minimum of
• 3 breakfasts and/or light lunches  and
• 3 cakes, baked goods, desserts or cookies that are gluten free, and can be either dairy free or egg free

Category 4. Guest houses & B&Bs

Any guest house or B&B offering a minimum of
• 3 gluten-free, dairy-free and/or egg free breakfasts options
and/or
• 3 gluten-free evening meal options which could also be dairy free and/egg free

Category 5. Schools & universities

Any school or university that caters for young people with allergies, coeliac disease or other special dietary requirements and has a protocol for doing so.

Category 6. Not-for-profit services – prisons, hospitals, the military etc

Any not-for-profit catering service that offers a reasonable choice of allergen/gluten-free meals to those on restricted diets and that has a protocol for doing so.

Category 7. Freefrom food manufactured for food service

Open to all manufacturers of freefrom foods designed for the food service market.
